Behind the Author
Madeline Nixon has been a dog walker, a nanny, a baker, a shoe saleswoman, a chocolatier, and an editor, but the title she’s most fond of is author. She’s published one nonfiction short story collection about her paranormal experiences entitled Feathers and several educational children’s books series. She also has a series of interconnected romance standalone novels, the Like A Love Song books, which are available now. When she’s not writing, you can find her hunting ghosts, planning elaborate theme parties, and baking new recipes. She lives in a suburb outside of Toronto.

Not Actually is the second book in the Like A Love Song series. It follows Zoey Gillies as she navigates life after moving in with her brother and his wife post-breakup and job loss. Emergency Lullabies is Madeline’s debut romance novel. It released September 2023. The novel follows Magnolia Callas as she heals from her sister Iris’s surprise passing. Magnolia gives up on her singer-songwriter dreams in order to raise Iris’s daughter. It may take a miracle in the form of a sweet, single dad to bring the music back to her.

November 10 2024: Ancaster Book Fair & Market
Join Madeline in Ancaster at the Ancaster Fairgrounds on November 10th for a book fair. She will be there with her books, from 10:30 am - 4:30 pm.This will be Not Actually's debut event.
November 16 2024: Film.ca Christmas Market
Madeline will be returning for a second year to the Film.ca Christmas Market. She will be there from 10 am - 5 pm with her books and other goodies. They make perfect holiday gifts!
June 20-22 2025: Rose City Romance Conference
Join Madeline in Windsor next June at the inaugural Rose City Romance conference. She will be in attendance all three days at Caesars Windsor for the industry night, signings, panels, and romantasy dance.
